Mrs. Alean Green-Gaskew was the youngest child born to the late Mr. Phillip Green, Sr., and Mrs. Allean T. Green.

Gaskew was a member of the Belmont M.B. Church of Utica, MS, under the leadership of Pastor Phillip Burks. She served as a member of the choir. Mrs. Gaskew attended Hinds Agricultural High School in Utica, Mississippi, with the graduating class of 1970. She furthered her education at Hinds Community College with two years of study, transferring to Alcorn State University. She graduated with double major in history and social work with the class of 1974.

Mrs. Gaskew was employed at Raymond High School for 23 years and retired there. After retirement, she was employed with Precious Moments Learning Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Mrs. Gaskew married Mr. Walter Gaskew on September 30, 2023, her classmate and love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Phillip Green, Sr., and Mrs. Allean T. Green; three brothers, Johnny D. McDuffie, Joe Green, and Andrew Green; two sisters, Annie Stokes and Jessieline Barnes; and grandchild, Acie Applewhite.

Mrs. Gaskew leaves to cherish her memories of her earthly life to: a loving husband, Walter Gaskew; one sister, Classie Barnes; three brothers, M.C. Green, Phillip Green, Jr., and Earnest Green; two daughters, Jennifer Lewis (Minister Willie Lewis) and Jasmine Carter; three special daughters, Pertrenniai Carson, LaTasha Burks-Jackson, and Tiandra Burks; one son, Kelvin Green, Sr.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her babies of Precious Moments; and a host of nephews, nieces, friends, and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Alean Green Gaskew on October 28, 2023, 11:00 AM at Belmont Baptist Church, 4446 Charlie Brown Road Utica, Mississippi .

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS on October 27, 2023 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Alean Green Gaskew transitioned on October 21, 2023 at the age of 72.
