Answer the call, VPD seeks officers

 The Vicksburg Police Department is currently seeking motivated individuals who want to answer the call to serve their community.

After an overhaul of the pay scale in the department last fall, the new starting salary for non-certified officers is $52,500. For certified officers the starting salary is $54,500.

Current openings include non-certified officer and certified officer positions as well as open investigator positions.

Benefits include career training and development, paid vacation time, health, dental and vision insurance and a retirement plan.

Requirements for applicants are a high school diploma or equivalent, 21 years or older as a U.S. citizen, valid driver’s license, and no felony convictions.

Applications must be picked up at the Vicksburg Police Department or the Human Resources Department at Vicksburg City Hall.

All completed applications must be returned to the Human Resources Department located at 1415 Walnut Street in Vicksburg.

The deadline to apply is Thursday, September 3 by 4 p.m.
