Avery Greer breaks five Vicksburg Swim Association records in Tupelo
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Vicksburg native Avery Greer broke five Vicksburg Swim Association team records over the weekend while competing in Tupelo.
The upcoming Warren Central High School junior delivered standout performances across multiple events, setting new team marks in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 200 individual medley, 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle.
“I didn’t know I broke those records until the team posted them, so I felt pretty good when I found out,” Greer said.
Greer recorded a time of 29.90 seconds in the 50 freestyle, 1:04.99 in the 100 freestyle, 2:50.77 in the 200 individual medley, 5:11.80 in the 400 freestyle and 2:23.85 in the 200 freestyle.
Greer trains with the Vicksburg Swim Association under coaches Alex Billings and Connor Clark.
She is coming off a dominant high school season at Warren Central, where she won MHSAA state championships in the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley while also helping the Lady Vikings capture the 400 freestyle relay state title. At Warren Central, she is coached by Terry Wong.
