VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Caleb Stewart earned the distinction of valedictorian for the St. Aloysius High School Class of 2025, leading a graduating class of 40 students during a commencement ceremony held last week.

“I feel proud because the work I put in has finally shown,” Stewart said.

A commitment to academic excellence has long been part of Stewart’s life. He recalled that his parents found creative ways to motivate him from an early age.

“They gave cash bonuses,” he said, laughing.

Stewart was officially named valedictorian after being informed by Principal Dawn Meeks. He noted the competition was close, with classmate Samantha Edwards finishing as salutatorian.

Graduating with a 4.61 grade point average, Stewart reflected on his time at St. Aloysius, highlighting the senior retreat as one of his most cherished high school memories. In addition to his academic achievements, he was a member of the school’s tennis team.

Before receiving his diploma, Stewart addressed his classmates in a valedictory speech that emphasized how quickly time passes and encouraged his peers to make the most of every moment.

Stewart, the son of Michael and Chelsea Stewart, will attend Mississippi State University in the fall, where he plans to major in computer science.

His academic record, dedication to learning, and leadership among his peers mark him as a standout member of the Class of 2025 and a promising student as he moves forward in his educational journey.
