Campbell McCoy named 2026 Spring SOAR Award winner
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Campbell McCoy of Vicksburg was named the 2026 Spring SOAR Award winner during a Feb. 19 ceremony, earning the college’s highest student honor.
McCoy was selected by the college’s executive leadership team from a group of six finalists.
A student on the Raymond Campus, McCoy has distinguished herself through academic achievement and campus leadership. She serves as vice president of membership for Phi Theta Kappa and is president of the Gamma Lambda chapter on the Raymond Campus.
McCoy also serves as a regional officer for the Mississippi/Louisiana region of Phi Theta Kappa, is a member of the college’s Honors Program and is part of the Lead Team for Hinds Connection, the college’s student recruiting and public relations group.
In addition to her leadership roles, McCoy was named a 2025 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar, receiving a $1,000 scholarship. She is also a recipient of the Gaddis & McLaurin Endowed Scholarship.
McCoy is a graduate of St. Aloysius High School.
