Carl Everett Houston 1957-2024

A Celebration of Life will be held for  Carl Everett Houston on February 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at C J Williams Mortuary Center, 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Center, on February 23, 2024, from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

 CARL BOO-MAN HOUSTON was born August 21, 1957, to the late Deloris Houston Wright and the late Clem Scott. Carl’s appointed time of death was Monday, Feb 12th, 2024.

Carl accepted Christ at an early age and joined Greater Mt Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. Carl graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1976, he also attended Alcorn State University where he played football as Defensive Tackle. After Carl’s formal education, he joined the Vicksburg Police Department and attained the rank of Lieutenant. Carl remained employed with the Vicksburg Police Department until his retirement. After retirement, Carl joined the Mississippi Department of Transportation and remained employed with MDOT until 2012. Recently Carl came out of retirement and rejoined the Vicksburg Police Department as a court bailiff.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Deloris Houston Wright, father Clem Scott, grandmother Mattie Lee Hunt, brothers; Jesse Wells, McKinley Turner, and Ronnie Houston, sisters; JoAnn Houston Martin, Louella Norfort, and  Doris Boyd.

Carl leaves to cherish his memories: sisters; Betty Jean Smith and Mattie L. Daniels (Eddie) sons; Derrick K. Williams and Columbus Neal III, Five Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
