Cedrionna Blackmore repeats as state champion

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Cedrionna Blackmore is once again a state champion powerlifter after finishing in first place at Friday’s state meet.

Blackmore, a Vicksburg High School junior, claimed her second consecutive title after repeating last year’s success.

Competing in the 220-pound weight class, Blackmore not only secured the win but also set a state record with a 170-pound bench press. She finished with a total lift of 790 pounds, including a 315-pound squat and a 305-pound deadlift.

Blackmore’s performance comes just a month after she captured the North State title in February. Since then, she increased her total by 20 pounds to earn another championship.

Blackmore is coached by Andre Bennett.

Madyson Brown also represented Vicksburg High at the state meet, finishing in fourth place.
