WESSON, Miss. (Co-Lin Athletics) — The Copiah-Lincoln Community College athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of JT Coward of Canton, Mississippi, as the new head men’s soccer coach.
“I am honored to lead this team and excited for the journey ahead,” stated Coward. “In this first season, my focus is on building a strong foundation built on discipline, accountability, and relentless effort.”
Coward has spent three seasons as assistant coach with the Co-Lin Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams. He came to Co-Lin after spending three years at Germantown High School where he was the women’s soccer head coach from 2019-22. Prior to that, he spent two years at Starkville High School as the men’s and women’s soccer head coach from 2017-19, in addition to his two years of head coach experience with Impact Football Club from 2015-17.
Coward is also a head coach with Mississippi Rush Soccer Club where he has been since 2019. He holds an associate of arts degree from East Mississippi Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Mississippi State University.
“JT has done a great job as an assistant for us for the last three seasons, and we hope to continue the success with him on the men’s side,” stated Co-Lin Athletic Director Bryan Nobile. “I look forward to him taking the reins of this program and continuing to build upon the foundation that has been laid since its return.”
“Success won’t just be measured in wins and losses, but in how we grow as individuals and as a team,” added Coward. “We’re here to compete, to improve every day, and to establish a culture that lasts!”
