Crews to start work on I-20 Bridge over the Mississippi; anticipate slow downs

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) crews will be making repairs to the Mississippi River Bridge, leading to temporary lane closures on Interstate 20, officials said.

According to the authorities, drivers should brace themselves for moderate congestion during high travel times and slow down and stay alert for roadside crews. I-20 eastbound will be reduced to one lane on March 11-12, 2024, while I-20 westbound will be reduced to one lane on March 13-14, 2024.

Additionally, lane closures are expected the following weekend, March 15-17, 2024.
