Crutison scores five touchdowns as Port Gibson rolls past Jim Hill 38-8. PORT GIBSON, Miss. (VDN)
Port Gibson High School remained unbeaten Thursday night as the Blue Waves rolled to a 38-8 victory over Jim Hill.
Crutison’s Five Touchdown Performance
Port Gibson improved to 2-0 under head coach Harry Brown behind a five-touchdown performance from quarterback KiMontae Crutison. Crutison threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns while adding 140 rushing yards and two scores.
Crutison opened the scoring with a 55-yard touchdown pass to Nathaniel Jones. He later connected with Lenelle Snyder on a 55-yard pass for another touchdown, and Ajavion McGrew ran in the 2-point conversion.
Port Gibson’s Strong Defensive Play
Crutison continued to make plays with his legs, breaking free for touchdown runs of 35 and 65 yards. He capped his three-touchdown passing performance with a 40-yard scoring strike to Nicholas Epps Jr.
Jones finished with two receptions for 75 yards.
Port Gibson also found the end zone defensively. Antwan Washington recovered a fumble and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown.
DElljai Smith, Snyder, Willie White and Corey Johnson helped lead the Blue Waves defensive effort, which held Jim Hill to eight points. White and Johnson each recorded an interception.
Port Gibson has now scored 72 points through its first two games while allowing 22.
