Daddy-Daughter Softball Duo Creates Memories for the Brittons
VICKSBURG, MS – A Daddy-Daughter duo has been in full effect for the St. Aloysius softball team. For the last two years, Ruthie Britton, a junior at St. Al. has been coached by her father, Brian Britton.
Last year, Britton was named assistant coach for the Lady Flashes which has given him a chance to grow a bigger bond with his daughter through the game of softball.
When Ruthie entered ninth grade, she began playing on the varsity team. Two years later, her father joined the organization and continues helping her improve the game.
“He taught me everything I know about softball even before he was my coach,” Ruthie said. “He’s one of my biggest supporters and he pushes me to be the best that I can be. I would not be where I am today without him being by my side the whole way.”
Together, Ruthie and Brian have been able to share the experience of her first home run as well as her first varsity-winning season. The Daddy-Daughter duo has been a testimonial message that even softball can bring a family closer.
For years, Brian has also coached tournament baseball, including his son Michael Anson’s tournament team.
The Lady Flashes softball team will enter the playoffs for the second year in a row this weekend where you can catch the Britton-Britton duo once more.
