Warren Central took a 34-24 loss to Madison Central on homecoming night.

The Vikings struck first as Eric Collins Jr. broke out for a 65-yard touchdown while Jonah Artman kicked the successful extra point.

TK Qualls, Ronnie Blossom, Landon Green, and Larry Reynolds Jr. made some big defensive stops but the Jaguars made their way into the end zone after a 50–yard double pass to tie the game at 7-7. WC had to punt on their next position. Reynolds came up with a sack before the end of the first quarter but MC took a 10-7 lead after a 35-yard field goal.

Red Winters caught some first down passes early in the second but the Vikings had trouble getting into Jaguar territory. Reynold came up with another sack that forced a punt where Winters gained some major yards. Artman soon hit a 30-yard field goal to tie the game at 10-10.

It wouldn’t take long for MC to respond as they scored from a 44-yard pass. They also scored again from a short pass just before halftime to take a 24-10 lead.

Coming out of halftime, Aden Greer broke out for a 30-yard run. Nash Morgan also hit Winter for a 46-yard gain which set up a two-yard score by Greer to put things at 24-17. Ricky Neal caught an interception in the third quarter while Blossom and Reynolds both grabbed two more sacks each before the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Jaguars scored a 20-yard touchdown to go up 31-17 but WC answered back with a long touchdown pass from Morgan to Mike Hall as the Vikings trailed 31-24. With just a couple of minutes left to play MC kicked a field goal to upset WC 34-24.

WC(2-3) has a bye week next Friday and will play again on October 11 at Ridgeland.
