Daryl Carson Promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. – In a ceremony held this morning at the Vicksburg Fire Department Training Center, Daryl Carson was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief.

Carson, who has been with the Vicksburg Fire Department since January of 2000, is also a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, and Coroner.

“The Vicksburg Fire Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Daryl Carson to the position of Assistant Chief. Throughout his tenure as a Captain and Paramedic, Daryl has consistently exhibited outstanding performance, demonstrating not only his clinical expertise but also his capacity to lead and effectively mentor his colleagues,” said Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps. “His role as an instructor within the department further underscores his commitment to the professional development of his team members. Through his daily conduct and during the promotional evaluation process, Daryl has established himself as a dependable leader, earning the respect of both his peers and superiors.”

Carson was pinned by his wife Kimmerli.

During Carson’s remarks, he thanked his cousin, recently retired Assistant Chief Carl Carson.

“He taught me to be fair. Consistent and direct,” said Daryl of his cousin Carl.
