Don Brown reappointed to Mississippi State Personnel Board

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Donald “Don” Brown of Vicksburg has been reappointed by Gov. Tate Reeves to a five-year term on the Mississippi State Personnel Board as an at-large member. His new term extends through June 30, 2030.

Brown was originally appointed to the Board in 2005 by then-Gov. Haley Barbour and has served multiple terms as chairman during his tenure.

He currently serves as deputy executive director of River Ridge Behavioral Health and brings a broad range of public service experience, having previously worked with the Mississippi Employment Security Commission, the Mississippi Department of Human Services, and the Vicksburg Early Education Center.

In addition to his role on the Personnel Board, Brown serves as chairman of the State Rehabilitation Council for the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. He is also a member of the College Savings Mississippi Board and the Mississippi Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.

Locally, Brown is chairman of the Warren County Port Commission and an active member of the Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Vicksburg and volunteers with the United Way of Central Mississippi.

Brown is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and a trustee at Mt. Zion No. 1 M.B. Church of Vicksburg, where he and his family worship.
