NATCHEZ, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Ellis Nassour, internationally acclaimed arts journalist and author of the best-selling biography Honky Tonk Angel: The Intimate Story of Patsy Cline will be at the historic Elms Court for a conversation celebrating the life and legacy of one of country music’s most beloved icons on Saturday, May 10.

Nassour, originally from Vicksburg, will share personal stories from his career in entertainment journalism and his unique friendship with stars such as Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee and Mississippi’s own Louise Seger. Seger’s friendship with Cline inspired the hit musical Always… Patsy Cline.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the updated edition of Honky Tonk Angel, which now includes a photo gallery, rare letters from Cline, and more than 100 pages of new material. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase signed copies of Ellis Nassour’s book at a special festival price of $20.

Also appearing will be Natchez native Diana Glaze, co-star of that evening’s performance of Always… Patsy Cline, where she reprises her role as Louise Seger. The musical, which showcases the friendship and music of Cline, will also be held May 10 at 7 p.m.
