Twin brothers die after drowning at a Mississippi Lake

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (VDN) — Twin brothers died days apart after drowning at a Mississippi lake on Thursday. The two were seniors at Philadelphia High School.
According to multiple reports, the brothers were fishing at Lake Pushmataha in the Pearl River community. It is unclear as to what happened at this time, but according to Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark, the two victims had been under the water for quite some time.
Jamarion Grady was pronounced dead on Thursday. His twin brother, Camarion Grady, was flown to University of Mississippi Medical Center where he died on Easter Sunday.
Following Jamarion’s death, the Philadelphia Public School District released a statement:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Jamarion Grady, a senior at Philadelphia High School, who tragically lost his life in an accidental drowning.
Known affectionately by his classmates and friends as ‘Frog,’ Jamarion was a vibrant, joyful spirit who brought life and laughter wherever he went. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or simply walking the halls, his presence was unmistakable. His smile, his energy, and the kindness he showed to others made a lasting impact on everyone around him.
Jamarion was not only a student with tremendous potential — he was a beloved brother, friend, teammate and member of our school family. As we come to terms with this painful loss, the entire Philadelphia Public School District stands in mourning with the Grady family, his close friends, and the faculty and students of Philadelphia High School.
We are holding Jamarion’s twin brother, Camarion, and the entire Grady family close in our hearts and prayers. We are praying for their strength, peace and healing in this time of unimaginable sorrow.
In times like this, we lean on each other for comfort, compassion and hope.
We extend our deepest condolences to all who loved Jamarion. Plans to honor his life and memory, both in school and throughout the community, will be shared in the coming days.
‘Frog’ will always be remembered — for his light, his laughter and the legacy of love he leaves behind.”
