VPD nets one for stolen vehicle charges

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Police Department has arrested one after reports of a stolen vehicle from the Quality Inn on Frontage Road.

On Wednesday, July 22, around 5 a.m., VPD officers responded to the Quality Inn located at 3975 South Frontage Road in reference to a reported stolen vehicle.

According to reports, the vehicle was a black 2018 Chrysler 300 from Louisiana. The vehicle was reported stolen from the hotel. During the investigation, video footage showed a white female, later identified as 26-year-old Kristen Martin of Vicksburg, pulling on the vehicle’s door latch, entering the vehicle, and driving away.

Later, a call was received reporting the stolen vehicle had been spotted on Culkin Road. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area, located the vehicle, and observed Martin sitting on the hood of the vehicle.

Martin then fled into a wooded area. She was later observed walking along the roadway and was taken into custody without incident.

Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies transported Martin to the Vicksburg Police Department for processing and booking.
