Labor Day Travel Reports Released by MHP

 The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) concluded its 2026 Labor Day Holiday Travel Period on Monday, September 7th, at midnight.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated 136 crashes resulting in 44 injuries, with two fatal crashes, one in Winston County and one in Hancock County resulting in one death in each crash.

Fatal Crashes During Labor Day Travel

FATAL CRASH, WINSTON COUNTY:

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 15 in Winston County.

A 2007 Toyota Camry, driven by 29-year-old Brandon Taylor of Starkville, MS, traveled south on Highway 15, when the vehicle left the roadway, and collided with a tree. Brandon Taylor received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Details of Hancock County Crash

FATAL CRASH, HANCOCK COUNTY:

On Sunday, September 7, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 607 in Hancock County.

A 2021 Toyota Corolla, driven by 23-year-old Dabrovolskis, of Picayune, MS, was traveled north on Highway 607 when it collided with a 2019 Ram 1500 Pickup, driven by 50-year-old Clifton Wilkerson, of Pass Christian, MS.

Hope Dabrvolskis received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Clifton Wilkerson was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
