Flashes put away PVA 5-3 on Monday

Vicksburg, Miss.-St. Aloysius High School baseball team picked up their second consecutive win on Monday after defeating Prairie View Academy. The Flashes came out with a 5-3 win to put their record at 2-2 on the year.

The game remained scoreless until the third inning when the Flashes began hitting the ball. William Roberson singled to bring in the first run which was followed by a 2-run double from Carson Smith to put the score at 3-0. Before the end of the third, Keller Bradley hit a single to put St. Al up 4-0.

PVA added two runs in the fifth and the Flashes earned their fifth run in the sixth after an RBI from Sadler Lambiotte. The Spartans managed to get one more run in the seventh but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Flashes as they won 5-3.

Carson Smith(2 RBIs), Keller Bradley(1 RBI), and Laken Bradley all finished with two hits. Walt Andrews and Roberson(1 RBI) both had one hit. Laken Bradley struck out three batters and Evan Mallard struck out two.

The JV team won 9-5. Brandon Babb, Max Hargrave(2 RBIs), and Evan Mallard(1 RBI) each had a hit. Scoot Melton hit an RBI and Mason Greene struck out six batters.

The Flashes will host TriCounty on Tuesday.
