Gators put down Humphreys County in their home opener

Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg High School baseball team took down Humphrey’s County 14-10 in their home opener on Monday. The win puts VHS with a 2-2 record under Head Coach Brandon Kincaid.
The Gators scored four runs in the opening inning after two walks and two errors. HC eventually scored one run in the second inning on a bunt that sent a runner to home plate.
The third inning became very profitable for VHS as they added six runs. Ashton Harris hit a pop fly and reached on an error while Kaleb Doss and Mickell Jones ran home. Four more errors would give VHS a 10-1 lead.
The fourth and fifth innings belonged to HC as they secured six runs while Nick Carson hit an RBI in the fifth inning for VHS. The Gators added their final runs in the sixth when they scored on a passed ball and Allan Allen hit a single.
Allen was 3 for 4 at bat with one RBI. He also struck out struck out four batters. Mincer Minor IV, Jones, Seven West, and Carson all had one hit. Jones struck out five batters and West struck out one.
The Gators will travel to play Velma Jackson on Tuesday.
