St. Aloysius fell short on Friday in a 21-13 loss to Central Hinds Academy.

The Cougars got on the board first from a short touchdown run. The Flashes quickly bounced back with a 70-yard kickoff return touchdown from Keller Bradley. John Ellis Montgomery kicked the successful extra point.

St. Aloysius did take a lead briefly in the second quarter when Montgomery kicked a 41-yard field goal as they went up 10-7. Just before halftime, the Cougars scored a 45-yard touchdown to go up 14-10.

In the second half, Carson Smith connected with Beau Brogdon and Laken Bradley which put Montgomery in good field position as he made a 38-yard field goal to put the score at 21-13. CHA scored again late in the third quarter.

The Flashes couldn’t make their way into the end zone and they now have a 1-5 record. They will travel to face Riverfield on Friday.
