Former VHS quarterback takes a coaching job at Coahoma CC

Former Vicksburg High School quarterback Tavares Johnson Jr. has announced that he will be heading to Coahoma Community College as the new Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receiver Coach.
Johnson made the announcement over social media on Saturday. He spent the 2023 season at Delta State University.
Before coaching at Delta State, Johnson coached at Simmons and Northside High School. He is a 2014 graduate at VHS where he was the star quarterback that led the Gators to the playoffs. He played his freshman and sophomore year at East Side High School.
Johnson also played football at Alcorn State University.
