Former Warren Central Standout TJ Thompson Led Troy in Tackles on Saturday
TROY, ALA. (VDN) — Troy University linebacker TJ Thompson, a former Warren Central High School standout, helped lead the Trojans to a 21-17 win over Buffalo on Saturday.
Thompson led the defense with a team-high five tackles. The junior transferred to Troy from East Central Community College, where he recorded 68 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles as a freshman in 2022.
At Warren Central, Thompson was named the Vicksburg Daily News Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,055 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with two touchdown receptions.
The Trojans will face the University of South Alabama on Oct. 4.
