Fostoria to host meet & greet with Willis Thompson this evening

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Mayoral candidate Willis Thompson will hold a meet and greet with the Fostoria neighborhood this evening, May 29, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Oak Hall Bed and Breakfast.

The Fostoria neighborhood hosted an emergency meeting with police and elected officials last October after three shootings occurred in four days in the surrounding areas.

“The greatest power we have is shared power,” Thompson said in a meet and greet at the Watermark on May 3, 2025. “It would be naive of me to think that I have answers to all the problem’s of the city of Vicksburg. It’s about partnering… with the police department, fire department, the spiritual community, and every citizen in the city of Vicksburg.”

Thompson will also be host a meet and greet with the Kings and Waltersville communities this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pavilion behind Fire Station number 9, 323 Waltersville Street.
