Gators crush Provine 55-6 to stay unbeaten in district play

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg High School football team remains undefeated in district play after crushing Provine 55-6. The Gators improve to 5-2 on the year under head coach Christopher Lacey and 2-0 in district play.

VHS enforced a running clock on the Rams as the score got out of hand.

  • Jadarius Henderson scored two touchdowns — one on a 15-yard run and another on a 10-yard run. He earned 60 yards on one drive.
  • Jaylen Smith recovered a blocked punt in the end zone.
  • Jamikal Maxey threw two touchdown passes: a 25-yarder to Daquan Warfield and a 35-yarder to Jayden Woods.
  • Jermaine Gaines Jr. found the end zone twice, scoring on runs of 15 and 2 yards. He also broke out for over 30 yards before his second touchdown.
  • Rico Thomas added a 10-yard rushing touchdown.
  • Kicker Abel Gonzalez went 7-for-8 on extra-point attempts.

The Gators will travel to face Cleveland Central next Friday.
