DECATUR, Miss.(VDN) — Gaylon Turner turned in one of his strongest collegiate performances last month as the Vicksburg native continues to make an impact for East Central Community College.

Turner scored 15 points in a matchup against Southern University-Shreveport, marking one of his best outings since returning from an injury suffered last season. The performance highlighted a productive December for the sophomore, who showed steady improvement on the stat sheet as conference play approached.

Over the course of the month, Turner recorded scoring efforts of 17, 15 and 11 points, providing a consistent offensive presence for the Warriors before the holiday break. His increased confidence and efficiency have been evident as he settles into a larger role with the program.

Turner is in his second year at East Central after missing much of last season due to injury. With momentum on his side, Turner and the Warriors will return to action Jan. 8 when East Central faces Shelton State.
