Good Vib3z restaurant announces closure in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Good Vib3z Restaurant in Vicksburg has announced it is closing its doors.
The business, which served breakfast, lunch and operated as a sports bar, shared the news Wednesday in a social media post from owner Kenneth Jackson, who thanked customers and reflected on the restaurant’s journey.
“This is one of the hardest announcements I’ve ever had to make,” Jackson wrote. “After much thought and reflection, Vib3Z will be closing its doors.”
Jackson thanked the restaurant’s customers, friends and supporters, saying many had become “more than customers — you became family.”
“We laughed together, celebrated together, and created memories through our food, music, and weekend events that I’ll never forget,” he wrote. “Thank you for every meal you purchased, every event you attended, and every word of encouragement you shared.”
While acknowledging the closure, Jackson said the experience provided “growth, wisdom, and experience” and that he intends to use the lessons learned moving forward.
“Sometimes life teaches us that the best move is not to keep fighting the same battle, but to take what we’ve learned and build something even greater,” he wrote.
Jackson also said he had learned that “success can attract hidden envy,” but added that he would not dwell on it.
“Our talented staff can go anywhere and put it down — and I’m confident that’s exactly what we will continue to do,” he wrote.
According to the statement, the closure may not be permanent. Jackson said the business is already looking toward the future, including the possibility of reopening in the old Godfrey building.
“This is not goodbye forever. It’s simply the end of one chapter and the beginning of another,” he wrote.
Jackson also expressed disappointment that the restaurant would no longer be able to host its weekend events, saying the music, food, laughter and atmosphere meant everything to the business.
“I believe Vicksburg wasn’t ready for what Vib3Z was bringing — not just in business, but politically as well,” Jackson wrote. “Paying taxes and operating honestly should be enough, but sometimes there are challenges beyond business itself.”
Despite the closure, Jackson said the business plans to continue serving customers elsewhere.
“The good news is this: Pearl isn’t far away,” he wrote. “To everyone who supported Vib3Z from day one, thank you for believing in us. This isn’t the end of our story. It’s a reset, a refocus, and an opportunity to come back stronger than ever. Until we meet again.”
