Gwendolyn “Gwen” Clark: 1942-2025
VICKSBURG, Miss. — Gwendolyn Janice Case Clark passed away peacefully in her home on July 23, 2025, at the age of 82.
In 1961, Gwen married William “Bill” Clark. They were married for 49 years and had two children together Kala and Casey along with Bill’s daughter Donna. Gwen and Bill had a barber/beauty shop together for years where they served their community and made many friends. They also shared hobbies that included looking for vintage treasures to decorate their home and creating a beautiful yard. She loved to cook for family and friends and to set a lovely table with her vintage finds. Gwen was a loyal member of Bovina Baptist Church and her Sunday school class. A testament to her life is the large number of friends that have loved and supported her and her children throughout her illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years Bill Clark, her sister and brother-in-law Gay and Ronny Robinson, and nephew Chris Robinson.
She is survived by her daughters Donna Smithhart, Kala Knight (Dan), son Casey Clark (Arlene), sister Regina Mullens, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Brian Parker. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS at 2:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Larry Montpelier, Greg Hull, Ron Turner, Todd Montpelier, Richard Embry, Wayne Oldenburg, Davis Oates and John Smiley. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Blush and Bill Downey.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice for their loving care and kindness. Thank you to the many friends who have lovingly supported us by bringing cards, food and many other gestures of kindness. You have been the hands of Jesus.
