Avery Read Carroll, 21, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on September 4, 2026.
Avery Read Carroll’s Early Life and Dreams
Avery was born on September 6, 2004, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Alicia and William Charlie Carroll. She was the youngest of two daughters and brought a special light and energy to her family from the very beginning.
She had a deep love for animals and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Her compassion extended far beyond animals; when Avery loved, she loved hard and with her whole heart. She had a smile that could light up a room and a presence that was impossible to forget.
Her Passion for Music and Poetry
She had a soul that needed somewhere to put all the feelings she carried. She found that place in music, poetry, and writing. She was a writer who could take emotions that were difficult to explain and turn them into words. She poured pieces of herself into her poetry and expressed her feelings through song. Her words were a window into her heart, allowing others to see the depth of the person she was.
Of all the things Avery accomplished in her life, becoming a mother to her son, Ace, was her greatest accomplishment and one of the greatest sources of love in her life. Ace was deeply cherished by his mother, and her love for him will continue to live on through him and everyone who knew how much he meant to her.
To her family, she was the little sister who could make us laugh, the daughter whose smile we will never forget, and the person whose presence made life feel fuller. There are memories we will hold onto foreverher laugh, her music, her words, her love for animals, and all the little things that made her uniquely Avery.
We will miss the sound of her voice. We will miss her smile. We will miss the way she loved. We will miss the person she was and all the things we dreamed she would one day become. Most of all, we will miss simply having her here.
Avery is survived by her beloved son, Ace Carroll; her mother, Alicia Carroll; her father, William Charlie Carroll; her sister, Cazlin Carroll (Christian) ; and her husband, Philip Pries. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry her memory and the love she gave them in their hearts.
Avery was preceded in death by Jamison Friley, whose memory remains a part of her story.
