RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Men’s Soccer team picked up a 2-1 conference win on Thursday evening at Tom Shepherd Field. With the win, the Eagles improve to 6-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in MACCC South play.
Tony King netted a chip ship over the keeper’s head to the give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage in the 15th minute of play. The visitors scored a goal of their own before the break as the score was knotted up at 1 halftime.
Both defenses played extremely well the next 45 minutes of play, but Ridchy Honore scored the go-ahead goal with 13:50 remaining in the contest. East Central had a couple of opportunities to score late in the match, but the Eagles’ defense held strong as Hinds took the 2-1 victory over East Central.
João Pereira assisted on both goals, while Younes Ezzaim played all 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles and tallied seven saves.
