Holy Week Cantata Concert at Crawford Street to be held tonight

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)– A group of local church choirs will join together to present “The Seven Last Words of Christ,” a Holy Week cantata exploring the story of the Crucifixion through music and scripture. The concert will be held at Crawford Street United Methodist Church, 900 Crawford Street, beginning at 7 p.m.

The cantata is a collaborative effort by the choirs of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church, Hawkins United Methodist Church, and the Vicksburg Chamber Choir. The performance, described as a musical meditation on the final hours of Jesus’ life, features Gospel texts set to a reflective score.

Organizers said the event is open to the public and is intended to provide a meaningful space for contemplation during the Easter season. Childcare will be available during the service.
