Karel’s Walk-Off Leads East Central CC to a Win

Vicksburg native Kayleigh Karel helped the East Central Community College softball team to a walk-off win on Wednesday over Lansing Community College. ECC was trailing 3-2 in the final inning until Karel hit a 2-run single that sealed the win for the Lady Warriors.

Karel also led East Central at the plate as she went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. She now has 13 hits on the season along with seven RBIs while batting at .448.

Karel is a former Warren Central athlete who won the best defensive award in 2022-2023 and the WC Female Athlete of the Year Award. She played under Head Coach Dana McGivney.
