Madison Parish High boys basketball advances to third round of playoffs
TALLULAH, La. (VDN) — The Madison Parish High School boys’ basketball team advanced to the third round of the playoffs after defeating Doyle High School on Tuesday with a 68-30 victory.
Dawson Brown knocked down two 3-pointers to start the first quarter, while Bryan Vaughn also hit a 3-pointer to give Madison a 15-6 lead. By halftime, the Jaguars were up 29-10 as Ja’Darrian Williams and Vaughn connected on long-range shots.
After halftime, the Jaguars came out strong as Amarrion White and Vaughn took control of the game. A. Green capped off the scoring run with a deep 3-pointer, putting MHS ahead 58-20.
The Jaguars sealed the victory as a running clock was enforced in the fourth quarter. Vaughn led with 16 points, while Brown added 13. Williams scored nine points, and White contributed eight. Marquis Thomas and Steve James added five and four points, respectively, while Green finished with three. Harrison, Strange, Caleb Davis, Jareon Hines, and Jaydon Larry each scored two points.
Madison Parish will play at home again on Friday.
