Story from Co-Lin Athletics:
WESSON, Miss. – Kyle Flessner begins his first season as assistant baseball coach with the Wolves where he will work primarily with pitchers. Flessner is a native of Thomasboro, Illinois and graduated from Rantoul Township High School in Rantoul, Illinois. He also played pitcher and outfielder for the Eagles during his high school baseball career.

Upon graduating high school, Flessner then attended Kankakee Community College where he played for the Cavaliers from 2015-17. Flessner was a pitcher on the 2017 NJCAA Division II National Championship team for the Cavaliers. After obtaining his Associate’s Degree from Kankakee in 2017, Flessner then attended Purdue University Northwest from 2017-19 receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.

“We’re excited about Coach Flessner joining the Wolf Pack family,” stated head coach Adam Chamblee. “Having coached together in the past, he is someone that I know I can trust, and I have personally been able to see how he can develop pitchers. He will not only develop our current pitchers, but he will also do a lot of recruiting for us.”

Flessner comes to Co-Lin after spending four years at East Central Community College as Assistant Baseball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. During his time at East Central, he helped lead the Warriors to back-to-back NJCAA Division II World Series appearances in the last two seasons including a third-place finish in the 2024 season. Additionally, during his time with the Warriors the team were MACCC and Region 23 Champions in 2023, reached No. 1 in the nation in 2024 and set program records for conference wins and overall wins at 24 and 55 respectively, while the team also finished with a Top-10 national ranking in all four years. Flessner also spent one year coaching at DePauw University from 2019-20 as the pitching coach and was a coach in the summer of 2020 in the MINK Collegiate League in Iowa.

“Coach Flessner brings in plenty of experience recruiting the state of Mississippi as he has done  for the last four years,” added Chamblee. “He has also won a national championship and has been to the Division II World Series as a coach twice. I think that is a unique thing to be able to bring in a coach who has experience being where we ultimately want to take our program.”
