Lady Flashes are the district champions in track

St. Aloysius girls’ track team finished Thursday night as District Champions. They had a total of 64 points.

Samantha Edwards won the 1,600(5:39.13), 3,200(13:35.92) and the 800(28.76). Annslee Averett took home blue ribbons in both the 300mh(53.93) and 100mh(19.25). Freshman Megan Theriot came in first place in the 400m(1:03.97) and second place in the 200 and 100m.

Madelyn Kavanaugh, Kelci Bingham, Averett, and Theriot all came in second place in the 4×200(1:56.53) and the 4×100(54.91). Sam Hall and Ace Oglesby(100 and 200) qualified for South State as well as Sam Hall(400). On the girl’s side, Presley Brister(long jump and 100mh) and Kavanaugh(400m) both qualified for South State.

The South State meet will be held at Silliman Institute next week.
