Larry Sharkey Reed: 1951-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Larry Sharkey Reed a Vicksburg resident passed away on Sunday June 15 in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was 74.  He was a retired cook for the U. S. Government MAT Sinking Unit.  He was a member of King David #2 M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Reed, Carrie Rogers, his brothers John Reed, Jessie Reed, and his sisters Emma Reed, Mary Reed, 

He is survived by his brother Harry Reed, Jr of Raleigh, NC and his siters Mildred McFelt of Vicksburg and Rosia Reed of San Francisco, Ca, and a host of nieces, nephews’ cousins and others.

Funeral services for Larry Sharkey Reed are to be held on Saturday June 21 in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Johnny l. Williams officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday June 20 in the funeral home from 5 to 6 p.m.
