VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native Santana Colon is currently in national competition to become a runway model.
Colon said she wants to represent her home town and inspire others to chase their dreams.
“While we’ve had many successful woman in Vicksburg, I’m fighting for the opportunity to show the future woman, and little girl that their dreams of being on a stage in New York isn’t impossible,” said Colon.
When asked what makes her the next big runway model, Colon confidently said because she loves the life.
“This is my life, and I live it as I want. With that being said, I feel like I have a certain courage about myself that shows other I’m not worried about their opinions about my looks or whatever the case may be, I’m simply here to enjoy myself and bring the energy needed to any situation. I can’t tell you the amount of hours I’ve racked up in my room or with my friends practicing our runway walk or even a full on dance choreography, you’ll never know when you’ll need it! I’m very much go with the flow, I think it’s silly to stress over every little action you make. Nobody can be happy that way. I want to show people that even if you came from little to nothing, you can become so big as long as you have the right motivation,” said Colon.
