One arrested by WCSO on an outstanding warrant

Anquan Ferguson, 46, was arrested by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department after being spotted walking on Washington Street. He was apprehended following a brief foot chase and faces charges for resisting arrest and an outstanding drug court warrant.

According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, just before 9 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, WCSO Detective Jeff Merritt was on his way to church when he spotted a Warren County man who had an outstanding warrant. Merritt called for backup and Daniel Thomas with the WCSO arrived at the scene. When they approached the suspect, he ran. After a brief foot pursuit they were able to take him into custody.

Anquan Ferguson, 46, was arrested on an outstanding drug court warrant. Ferguson has additionally been charged with resisting arrest.

Judge Walter Armstong set bail at $500 for resisting, however, Ferguson will remain in jail pending action on the original drug court violation.
