VICKSBURG, Miss. – Junior softball player Madison Spencer has verbally committed to playing at Hinds Community College. Spencer made the announcement on Wednesday over social media.

“I am very excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Hinds Community College to continue my academic and athletic career,” the post read. “I want to thank my family, teammates, and all the coaches who have challenged and supported me in achieving my goal to play at the collegiate level. I want to thank Coach G, Coach Plummer, and the entire Hinds coaching staff for this amazing opportunity. I give thanks to God for all the opportunities with which I have been blessed.”

Spencer spent the last two seasons starring at St. Aloysius as both the catcher and the top hitter for the 2024 season. In 2023, Spencer finished with 20 hits and 11 RBIs helping the Lady Flashes to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years.

Over the last two years, Spencer has a .405 batting average, 10 doubles, 5 triples, and 30 RBIs. She also caught 10 runners stealing and had 7 pick-offs while only allowing two passed balls. Her junior year consisted of 29 hits and 19 RBIs.

Madison Spencer still has another year of varsity softball left and VDN will catch up with her at her initial signing day.
