Man killed in Warren County land-clearing accident identified
WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — The victim killed in a land-clearing accident earlier this week in Warren County has been identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Temple II, according to the Warren County Coroner’s Office.
As previously reported by Vicksburg Daily News, Sheriff Martin Pace said the accident was reported just before 4 p.m. to the Vicksburg Warren 911 Call Center. The incident occurred on a piece of property off Youngton Road near its intersection with Hannah Road.
Temple, a Hinds County resident, was operating a skid steer equipped with a saw for clearing timber when a tree penetrated the front windshield and struck him.
“This was called in by a co-worker who was working on another piece of equipment nearby,” Pace said. “He called 911 and attempted to get the victim out of the equipment but was unsuccessful.”
Temple was pronounced dead at the scene when deputies and paramedics arrived. The incident remains under investigation, but authorities do not suspect foul play.
