JACKSON, Miss. – Governor Tate Reeves today announced that the Office of Broadband Expansion and Accessibility of Mississippi (BEAM) approved 24 broadband infrastructure projects funded by the Capital Projects Fund (CPF). BEAM expects to approve more CPF projects on a rolling basis throughout the summer.

“We’re working hard to expand broadband infrastructure to all corners of Mississippi,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “Digital infrastructure is redefining our economy, and we want to ensure every Mississippian has reliable broadband access. These projects will be critical to our state’s efforts, and I look forward to seeing their positive impact on Mississippi.”

The approved project locations by county include:

BEAM investments

These initial CPF projects will provide approximately $70.9 million in grant funding to build internet service for about 27,000 households in 19 counties across the state. Furthermore, program guidelines from the US Department of Treasury mandate that all CPF-funded projects must complete by December 31, 2026.

In addition to the CPF funding, BEAM administers the broader broadband expansion efforts, including a $162 million investment. BEAM is overseeing the $32 million Broadband Infrastructure Program (BIP) projects, involving 12 projects across 10 counties, set for completion this fall. Additionally, BEAM is finalizing requirements to access $1.2 billion in federal Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) grant funding, and managing the $10.7 million State Digital Skills and Accessibility grant.

Therefore, citizens are encouraged to visit the Mississippi broadband map at www.broadbandms.com to view available services and federally funded expansion locations. For inquiries, BEAM can be contacted by phone at 601-359-5029 or by email.
