Mississippi River Monsters returns next weekend
The Mississippi River Monsters Mega Bucs tournament begins on Saturday, July 25 at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Mississippi River Monsters Mega Bucs tournament begins on Saturday, July 25 at the Vicksburg Convention Center and the competition will come to a close on Sunday, July 26.
The MRM tournament is slated as one of the largest catfish tournaments in the country. The event returning this summer with bigger prizes and hopes to have an increased turnout for its fourth year in the River City.
According to the MRM website, the event will payout a total of $200,000, based on 100 boats, and a first-place cash prize of $100,000. The tournament will pay out to the top 10 places overall, and an exclusive Big Fish cash prize will be awarded on Day 1.
The event begins at 3 a.m. on Saturday with a boat check at Vicksburg’s boat ramp. From 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. is the tournament time. At 12 noon the Vicksburg Convention Center open where there will be vendors, concessions and live music. Weigh in begins at 5 p.m. at the VCC.
On Sunday, the top 25 boats will compete for the Mega Bucs tourney. All times for the Championship Sunday will be the same as Saturday’s line up.
