Missy Gators defeated Provine in the Martin Luther King Classic

Vicksburg, Miss.-The Vicksburg High School girls’ basketball team participated in the Martin Luther King Day Classic on Saturday at Lanier High School. The Missy Gators ended the day with a 58-44 win over Provine High School. 

Cynia Johnson and Zion Harvey combined for 44 points as they both brought in 22 points each. Both also had a double-double as Harvey grabbed 10 steals and Johnson snatched 16 rebounds in the victory while also being named the MVP(Johnson). Raylyn Parson put up four points while Ny’Keria Watson, Jada Erwin, Jordan Grace,  and Alanna all scored two points. Madisyn Kimble and Zion Knox both hit a free throw.

VHS is 13-9 on the year and they will host Columbus on Tuesday.
