Missy Gators ended their regular season with a shutout victory over Forest Hill

Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg High School girls’ soccer team ended their regular season with a 7-0 shutout win over Forest Hill on Thursday night.

The game started off slow but the Missy Gators eventually found their spark. Trinity McGloster led the charge with four goals, followed by Amari Johnson with one goal in the win. Kennedy Mullins had one goal while Leah O’Bryant secured the the mercy-rule victory with a final goal just seconds before the whistle. 

The Missy Gators’ defense was on point all night, preventing any shots on goal. VHS is now 13-6 under Head Coach Maurice Gilliam and they will face Saltillo in an away game on Tuesday.m in the first round of the playoffs.

VHS boys:

The Gators wrapped up their season on Thursday in a 3-1 loss. Cannon Jackson scored their lone goal while Xavier Williams and Arthur Davis both had five saves. Johnathan Qualls grabbed two saves.

“I’m extremely proud of where the boys are at this point,” Gilliam said. “We’ve made tremendous progress over the last two years, and I’m looking forward to an exciting season next year. I can’t wait.”
