Missy Gators split wins with Grenada; Game 3 will be played Monday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —The Missy Gators split wins with Grenada on Friday night to force a game three on Monday. VHS came out on top 8-6 in game one of the playoff series just before falling short 7-3 in game two.
Game 1:
Harmony Harris earned VHS their first two runs after hitting a double that led to Shandrea Lockridge and Zion Harvey making it to home plate. Grenada ended up tying the game in the second inning and by the third inning, they had a 5-2 lead over VHS.
The Missy Gators wouldn’t get back on the board until the fourth when Lockridge hit a single to send Lili Kistler to home plate.
By the end of the fifth, the Missy Gators found themselves down 6-3 but a profitable sixth inning would change the game. Lockridge earned a walk to get VHS their fourth run just before Avery VanNorman hit a 3-run double and Harris nailed a 2-run double as they went up 8-6.
Kistler went ahead to put the game away as she didn’t allow any runs in the final two innings. She struck out two batters in the win.
Makynzie Dunmore went 3 for 4 at the plate while Harris(4 RBIs) and Lockridge(2 RBIs) both had two hits. VanNorman(3 RBIs), Camden McGloster, and Zion Harvey all had one hit.
Game 2:
The Missy Gators fell short 7-3 in game two. Kistler struck out four batters.
Lockridge went 2 for 4 at the plate while Trinity McGloster(2 RBIs), Harvey(1 RBI), VanNorman, and Dunmore all had two hits.
Game three will be held in Grenada on Monday.
