Multiple Local Athletes made the All-State Football Team
Vicksburg, Miss.-Multiple football players from Warren County made the MHSAA All-State Football Team. Seven local athletes made the prestigious list out of multiple players from around the state of Mississippi.
Vicksburg High School had two players to make the All-State Team. Offensive Lineman Willie Edmond and running back DeCorey Knight Jr. will represent the Gators, respectively as they were named as some of the top players in 6A football.
While Edmond bulldozed through multiple defensive linemen, Knight rushed for 1,169 yards and six touchdowns in 2024. He also had 442 receiving yards and four touchdowns while also becoming Vicksburg High’s all-time leader rusher with over 3,000 career rushing yards.
Warren Central had five athletes to make the All-State Team. Gavin Davenport, Larry Reynolds Jr., Ronnie Blossom, Jonah Artman, and Maddox Lynch are the Vikings who made the. squad.
Lynch starred at tight end where he finished with 459 receiving yards, 42 receptions, and three touchdowns. Before the end of the regular season, Lynch became WC’s All-Time reception and receiving yards leader as he ended his career with 105 receptions and 1,358 receiving yards.
Gavin Davenport made a name for himself at linebacker as he finished with 77 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and four sacks.
Artman is Warren County’s leader in career field goals as he has knocked down 27 since his freshman year. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the 2026 class and finished 10 of 12 field goals in 2024 along with 44 of 47 in extra points.
Blossom grabbed 96 tackles for WC along with 9.5 sacks and 26 tackles for loss. He is WC’s lead tackler for the 2024 season.
Reynolds had an outstanding season season with 81 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and one interception. He also became WC’s all-time leader in sacks.
The Gators are led by Head Coach Christopher Lacey and WC is led by Head Coach Josh Morgan.
