JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science‘s Dinosaurs Around the World Exhibit: The Great Outdoors is going extinct January 5, 2025.

The indoor/outdoor exhibit, which opened June 8, 2024, features eleven advanced animatronic dinosaurs including – Tyrannosaurus Rex of North America, the bi-pedal predator Herrerasaurus (one of the first dinosaurs to appear on Earth), and the bony-crested Oviraptor from Mongolia.

“Dinosaurs Around the World will transport visitors back in time to the unrecognizable landscape of Pangea in a playful and educational way,” said Tom Zaller, President & CEO of the company that produced the exhibit Imagine Exhibitions.

While the animatronics may be the highlight of the exhibit, visitors will also learn about tectonic plates, geological formations, as well as some of the latest paleontological research.

Admission to the exhibit is included with museum admission or Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation Membership.
