Myrlie Evers park to open Wednesday
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — In the regular meeting held Friday, April 24, th Board of Mayor and Aldermen in Vicksburg adopted a resolution approving the grand opening of the Myrlie Evers Civil Rights Park.
The event will happen Wednesday, April 29 at the park’s location at 1589 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. beginning at 12:30 p.m.
In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Vicksburg City Auditorium located at 901 Monroe Street.
Due to limited parking, transportation will be available bu bus from the City Auditorium to the park. Anyone interested in riding the bus should be at the City Auditorium beginning at 10:30 a.m. Buses will be available after the event to transport attendees back to the City Auditor.

The keynote speaker for the event is Reena Evers-Everette, daughter of Medgar and Myrlie Evers. The public is invited to attend.
