Moorehead was officially crowned Tuesday night during the WCJHS football game against crosstown rival Vicksburg Junior High School.

“I’m happy and honored, but to make it makes me feel very special,” Moorehead said.

Moorehead learned of her selection while at school and admitted the moment made her nervous. She was recognized at halftime Tuesday alongside the entire WCJHS Homecoming Court before receiving her crown.

The eighth grader is also a member of the WCJHS band.
