WCJHS Victory Highlights
Warren Central Junior High School’s football team improved to 2-0 after earning a 26-14 comeback victory over Madison Central on Tuesday.
Key Players in the Comeback
Decatur Morgan threw three touchdown passes in the win, with all three going to Cor’Darius Miles. Miles accounted for four touchdowns overall, catching three touchdown passes and returning an interception for another score.
The Vikings trailed for most of the game before taking control in the fourth quarter.
Game Progression
Madison Central struck first to take a 6-0 lead before a safety extended the Jaguars’ advantage to 8-0.
With about a minute remaining before halftime, Morgan connected with Miles on a 50-yard touchdown pass to put Warren Central on the board.
The Morgan-to-Miles connection struck again in the third quarter when Morgan launched a 45-yard touchdown pass to Miles.
Miles also made an impact defensively by returning an interception for a touchdown to give the Vikings the lead.
Morgan and Miles connected for their third touchdown in the fourth quarter, this time on another long scoring pass. Jacob Clay ran in the successful 2-point conversion to help secure the 26-14 victory.
Defensive Strength
Warren Central’s defense has been a major part of its 2-0 start, allowing just 10 points per game this season. EJ Wilson recorded a sack against Madison Central, while Aiden Scott contributed several tackles. Patrick Johnson finished with three tackles for loss.
The Vikings will travel to face Germantown next Tuesday.
